Last Day of Retail

Today was my last day of work at my retail job as a copy center associate at Staples. It felt like just another day. I've been able to tell some of my return customers who know me where I'm going, and they've been really happy to hear I'm moving on, but overall today was pretty mundane. No one at work really knew or remembered I was leaving today, except Missy, who works with me in the copy center. She gave me a huge hug and told me she'd miss me. I like the people I work with and I'll miss them too.

I never told Staples I'd be quitting, because if there's no job or path to follow at the end of this fellowship, I may find myself back there come March. But I don't know if I could do it. I don't know if I could listen to another customer berate me because they waited until the last minute to get something copied on the busiest day of the week. All I'd be thinking in my head is, "Wow, I wrote music with Mike Post." So I'm determined to make the most out of this experience.

I WILL meet the right people, I WILL find work, and I WILL do what makes me truly happy. Just four more days until I'm on the west coast and nineteen until I arrive at Mike Post Productions and it couldn't come sooner.
